The collection consists of letters concerning the illness of Addison and Joseph Stockton of cholera in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1832. Letters from Joseph before his death and from Addison following his illness, as well as from other friends and relatives of the Stockton family, are included. Most of the letters concern Joseph’s death and Addison’s recovery. The letters are bound into the volume. A biography of Joseph is included on the inside of the back cover and a portrait of him is located on the first page of the letter book. Read more...
