Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra Posters

What's online?

The online collection includes a selection of concert posters documenting PSO performances for audiences in Pittsburgh and around the world. Images that were selected for inclusion in the online collection include material from the historic 1964 U.S. State Department-sponsored diplomacy tour, the performance at the 2009 World Games in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and concerts in Australia, Japan, Europe, Mexico, as well as the concert halls and public parks of Pittsburgh, PA. The images depict the PSO's heralded lineage of Music Directors, including Fritz Reiner, William Steinberg, Andre Previn, Marriss Jansons, Lorin Maazel, and Manfred Honeck, who joined the PSO in 2009.

What's in the entire collection?

The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra Archives contains concert recordings, institutional and board records, photographs, moving image materials, programs, posters, news clippings, ephemera, and artifacts dating primarily from 1971, when the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra moved to Heinz Hall.
