This collection contains a sampling of photographs from the University Archives. Many of these images depict Pitt buildings, students, faculty, chancellors, athletics, organizations and events on the Oakland campus as well as at the Greensburg campus. Many other Archives Service Center collections also contain photos of Pitt’s campus. Applicable images, such as those from the Ken Kobus, Paul Slantis and Pittsburgh City Photographer collections, have also been included here.

The University Archives photograph collection has several components, including photographs from Pitt’s Facilities department and the Center for Instructional Development and Distance Education (CIDDE). The archives has also accumulated many photos as part of our vertical files on faculty, campus buildings, and student groups. Because the university plays such a significant role within the City of Pittsburgh, it is also common to find images of Pitt’s campus within our other archival and photographic collections.
