Description
South Porch, Central Portal
Outer Archivolts
Houvet identifies the standing figures on the outside of the arch as the "fourteen beatitudes described by Saint Anselm and Saint Bernard- representing the seven gifts of the body and the seven gifts of the soul...." (Houvet, p. 11)
On the left are seated figures of Old Testament Kings and Queens.
Some of the figures have white test patches made for the imminent cleaning of the porch.
