Crucifixion of Christ on a gilded background (Matthew 27:35-56; Mark 15:24-41; Luke 23:33-46; John 19:17-37). Christ (crossed halo, eyes open, wearing a blue loincloth) is nailed to a green cross, with Mary and John on left and right both holding books; sun and moon are above, as male and female personifications.
